Year 6 Spring Term

A World at War

 During spring, Year 6 will be learning all about World War II in our topic named 'A World At War'. We will learn about life on the home front during wartime, the land army and the effects that this devastating war had on England and the rest of the world. At the beginning of our topic, we will read Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll and follow two young children who are evacuated to the Devonshire coast and have to solve a mystery that links back to their home. Later in the term, we will read the story of Rose Blanche, which portrays parts of the holocaust through a young girl’s eyes and beautiful illustrations.
